I am guessing it dropped into magic10.c driver without having to update anything.

Nope... Different I/O. I'm working on them right now to make the game completely playable.

It looks to me from title screen that magic's 10 is a bootleg of music sort

I have the same impression.
The only thing that stopped me to change the relationship, is the odd fact that ABM (Music Sort manufacturers) released "Magic's 10 2", so... Why the hell they release a 2nd part of a bootlegged title? Still confuse here...
