The only thing I see wrong with that image is someone drew a big red shape over it.
I'm guessing you mean the rough aliasing on the edge of the plane, in which case it's not a defect. You don't see it as much on the real machine because they used a very blurry low-res monitor. MAME and your sharp high-resolution PC monitor reproduce the graphics exactly as they were drawn, warts and all.

I measured the aliasing, and each of these "steps" are about 1/240 of the picture in height. 240 is a typical number of scan-lines for most 2D raster type games.

Oh, did the same guy post double post all over the sk3n3 or was someone drawing red shapes on something else?

No, the Ban Brothers (Tom Riddle and M**gly) both dearly love to scan MW for people posting things they think are stupid and then rant about them elsewhere. I gather they think it proves stuff about Twisty or something.

LOL sad In real life I'm tech support in a secondary school and often, while walking the corridors, I see kids who have got themselves kicked out of class, sticking they're faces up to the glass around the door to make faces at their friends, sometime I think it would be cool to punch them in the back of the head to smash their faces right through it just to see the expression on their glass embedded faces! Seems like a similar deal here, although without any mildly psychotic desire to harm Hayward and the Moog. It's silly anyway as the level of stupidity has fallen sharply since this because the main MAME board, as opposed to the old MAME.net one!

Well 'tolerated' is definitely the word - these days newbies and ROM kiddies get polite explanations for stuff they would have been flamed, flamed and then flamed for until all that was left was a greasy stain! (maybe Moogley's banning has something to do with that...) Maybe the level of stupidity hasn't decreased much but the volume of dumb posts certainly seems to have, maybe that's just another symptom of the scene dying though!

The internet is a mass phenomena today being easily accessible. Consequently the level and volume of stupidity is converging to that of the real world(tm). Having said so, the good old times weren't that shiny as well. IRC and everything chat related was sub-standard 20 years ago as well. Quite interesting how anonymity turned introverted and emphatically retarded nerds into wild predators.

There's never going to be a public emulation forum that constitutes an intellectual utopia.
In fact, MW is probably in the upper echelon of that metric compared to other sites.
Lastly, considering some of the terminal stupidity that gets posted over there, throwing rocks from that glass house is beyond absurd.
ever notice on chun lis stage in the background the area with the boxes that in the arcade game the swirls are present but in the console versions its gone probably because it looked too much like the coke sign.
Im convinced Mario is a hobo.
He wakes up everyday in the same clothes, runs around in sewers, and collects coins for a living.
At the end of the day, he uses the coins to buy mushrooms

.. still, I think the poster might not know the freaky Guile character's moves that are shown are not standard issue moves and are likely from one of the rainbow of bootlegs that were produced.
