wtf is with the constant usb plug/unplug sound in XP when using the xbox controller?

guess i need to research... anybody else tackled this before? nothing shows in event viewer. iirc, the controller tries to swap the default sound/mic to the controller. this might be what's going on, but everything seems to work fine (i'm not using the headphone/mic port on the controller though)

Did you grab the drivers for it?
