I've used top of the line framing nailers. I've used crap ones too. I can honestly say the $99 6 in 1 21-30-34 degree framer from Harbor Freight is awesome. One of the best I've used, at a third of the price.

I bought a $60 roofing nailer from them. Worked pretty good shooting over 7000 nails in my roof. I'm sure not as good as one of the the $300 ones, but good enough. I gave it to a friend and helped him put another roof on with it. By the end of the job, it was acting up. He took it apart and found a brass part was worn on one side. He turned it around and it works like new now. Two days use paid for it. I think it costs like $30 per day to rent one.
