I just saw the Thanksgiving episode of 3rd From The Sun (season 2). That's how thanksgiving should be.

Wish I could. Got the diagnosis of Stage 1 Kidney Failure yesterday afternoon. Has been difficult to be happy right now. Probably creeped out my family when I was holding my one-month old nephew and was rubbing his lower back.

Yep, made it through another one without a hitch. Although our forced hot air furnace is acting quirky today so I sense an imminent plumbing bill.

Thanks. Not your fault bro. Just 30 years of Type I Diabetes so it was bound to happen. It's still only stage 1 so I'm hopefully still a ways away from needing dialysis, and pharmaceutical treatments should help out. Still a bummer. Means my days of throwing back a few beers with my friends are over. (Need to keep as much "toxic" substances out of my body as possible since them dar kidneys aren't able to filter it out as well anymore). I guess the only potential benefit from having my kidneys completely fail would be that if I do get a transplant from an organ donor I could get a new pancreas as well and would no longer be a diabetic. Of course, I'm sure that the immunosupressants won't be all that spectacular.

Before it's too late, I think I need to save up some money and get myself out to Vegas for one final "hurrah" and buy a bunch of hookers.

Thanksgiving songs? new [Re: redk9258]

Here's a question going around my circle of friends: how many Thanksgiving songs are there, really? There's not a lot.

Adam Sandler - Thanksgiving Song
... and?

Dude! Over the river and through the woods new [Re: Stiletto]
#239763 - 11/26/10 08:17 AM

Adam Sandler... whatchu talkin' bout.

THIS is a REAL Thanksgiving song... I know you know it, you just forgot.

Over the river, and through the wood,
To Grandfather's house we go;
The horse knows the way to carry the sleigh
through the white and drifted snow.
Over the river, and through the wood—
Oh, how the wind does blow!
It stings the toes and bites the nose
As over the ground we go.
Over the river, and through the wood,
To have a first-rate play.
Hear the bells ring, "Ting-a-ling-ding",
Hurrah for Thanksgiving Day!
Over the river, and through the wood
Trot fast, my dapple-gray!
Spring over the ground like a hunting-hound,
For this is Thanksgiving Day.
Over the river, and through the wood—
And straight through the barnyard gate,
We seem to go extremely slow,
It is so hard to wait!
Over the river, and through the wood—
Now Grandmother's cap I spy!
Hurrah for the fun! Is the pudding done?
Hurrah for the pumpkin pie!

Seriously... not to call anybody out by name, so I'll just throw this out there in general... HOW can you watch this voluptuous body in motion and STILL be gay? Seriously? Unless you're lesbian, then it totally makes sense... of course you'd lust after that. I get that.

Ouch. You are way to down on this. Not saying it isn't a bummer, but you're definitely looking at the glass as half bull. Transplants? Last hurrah? Count your blessing, man. Grade I is like three grades better than Grade IV.

"So do all who live to see such times, but that is not for them to decide. All you have to decide is what to do with the time that is given to you."

So yeah, take your insulin, and love life for it's living, man. Don't let any sun set without having spread some extra love around. The energy you put out there comes back to you.

I'll have to ask my Dad about the Jeopardy theme. He claims it's a song they used to sing back in his elementary school days around Christmas time. ...hopefully if he can recall some of the words to it so I can find out what it's based off of, or what he's probably thinking of.

Warning: It IS Adam Sandler.

Oh, yeah, I know that song. I kept thinking, "well, _that's_ a Thanksgiving song." And then doubting it due to the lyrics that I DID remember - horse, sleigh, snow, etc.

Still, we're not coming up with a lot, and Christmas has hundreds of songs.

Perhaps?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jeopardy!_theme_music

Many of those shows were made on the 'cheap' so they would make their own music. As they did not want to pay any royalties to anyone.

Yeah, I'm going to do my best. But when the doctor tells you right before the holiday break hits, it just gives you too much time to overthink it. It's hard not to be way down when a potential death sentence was just given to you. It's just going to take some time to get my mood back up to normal levels. Hopefully not too much time...
