Obviously the majority of it is electronic. But the guitar parts sound like actual sound recordings. Does anyone know anything on this?

They probably are.
There are ADPCM decoding capabilities with that chip (YMZ280-F) allowing enhanced, pre-recorded audio (chip specs say 16MB of storage) along with it's 8 channel PSG. No doubt this game makes good use of the chips' capabilities

YMZ280s are too weak to synthesize any meaningful music on the fly. It's pre-recorded mono ADPCM any time you see one.
