I'm from Northamptonshire - Alan Moores' one of the few celebs we've got - it's pretty much just him, Alan Carr and Jo Wiley!
You can spot him wandering around the Grovsnor Centre some days
Don't think I've seen him play it so all out for laughs before - its usualy all serious with a heavy message with him, good stuff though, he really 'Knows the score' as PWEI once said

I went for a few drinks at the Chicago Rock Cafe in Northampton a few years ago,
the wife was showing me where she went to uni. On an unrelated note, I had a
few drinks in Chicago while rocking out last night.

I hope you saw more of Britain than just my county town - I'm sure there's much nicer bits!

Northampton had a song once:

where they ran out of things to say so they started banging on about aliens!

If you're wondering 'Why, for the love of cake, why?" Well:

You couldn't make this stuff up if you tried!

Thats when two of my housemates were there up on the new (back then) Park campus so I know a lot of people who were there at that time. Ask her if she knows Joss Kaldenberg or Kevin Roberts (my housemates). It was a bit of a party Uni more socializing than study so she may know them. I think they were doing Business or some such thing. I was on the old campus studying Architecture with the Arts and Drama types.

She doesn't recognize the names, she was learnin' teachin' while there. She was well into
the socializing, so they probably crossed paths at some point.

Yeah drank in those three pubs and we used to frequent the Roadmenders on a Friday night before it was rebuilt. I prefered the old place with sticky floors and Graffiti paintwork. I also remember pints of Zamek http://www.czechtradebeer.eu/en/zzamek_lager.html for 50p a pint!!!
