Mame shortcuts or special key functions

Hi everyone,
I wonder if there could be way to make a shortcut in mame that would represent the press of a sequence of keys. For instance, pressing key "M" would be equivalent to pressing, in this sequence, keys "TAB", "arrow down", "arrow down", "ENTER", "arrow up", "ENTER". This would be helpful to shortuct the way to reach certain configurations in the menu, for example. I would deeply appreciate any comments on this. Thanks

It would be pretty complex to support (especially if it had to work with the UI) and it's unclear if there's a major benefit.

Isn't this just a poorly disguised way of asking for macros (to do combinations, fatalities, etc.)? ![](//www.mameworld.info/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/big-laugh.gif)

No shit. I don't even play those games, and that's what I immediately thought.

Consider it high comedy....sincere tragedy....whatever...don't take it personally.
