Programming a mame UI, how to get the game list

Hello everybody,
I would like to adapt my multi-emulator-ui to launch mame games. The problem I have is that for other emulators I manage (sega megadrive, snes and gba), one zip file means one game.
With mame, the challenge is that one zip file is used by many games, and as I don't want to keep all the games, I would like to find a kind of list showing the relation between one game and the zip files it needs to run.
The purpose is to build a list of games (and not a list of zip), and to be sure I won't delete zip files which are parts of other games I want to keep.
