I need help with an old mame

I am using fastmame v0.98b with emu loader v.5.4.1 to try and play the mortal kombat series at full speed on my computer. This is the only way I have found to be able to play them at full speed. The only problem I have is when I go into the (configuration menu) then into (input this game) and adjust the player 1 controls it does not reload the settings I have entered into the (input this game) settings. I have to manually go back each time I play the game and reset my conroller setup. Is there a way I can go into my .ini file an have it automatically reload my configuration settings each time for that game? It does save a cfg file for each game but does not reload it as I have programmed it, it defaults back to its original state. I have posted this question on the emu loader forum with no luck. I do not want to put more money into my computer. Can you please help me with this problem? Can someone reprogram this so it will load and save the configuration files correctly for fastmame v0.98b?

Ok, this is insane. Cross posting the same stuff everywhere. Twisty?

You're asking for support on an 4 year old build that was unsupported at the time it was released, on the wrong forum no less (this should be in "EmuAdvice Help Forum").
That said, either your paths are misconfigured or there's something wrong with FastMame itself. You might try to get regular MAME of the same version, because it's the oldness rather than the FastMame-ness that makes it run MK faster (we improved the sound and music quality, which is why it's slower now).
