Microsoft Puts FoxPro Out to Pasture :(

"Microsoft has announced that it will not be releasing any new versions of its Visual FoxPro development software past Version 9.0, but the company will continue to support the technology through 2015."
Since FoxPro is my main development language this is pretty sad news. After 15+ years of using the product, I was just getting good at it. It's not a complete shock as the writing's been on the wall for a couple years. Time to get my feet wet with another tool.

I didn't really use foxpro after microsoft bought it & then I stuck with foxpro for dos. I guess things improved since I used it, but it wasn't horrendous.
c# with linq is looking to be a very good alternative for data storage integreted into a language.

I saw a boxed set of it at a Goodwill for next to nothing, but I have too much stuff as is and it was DOS...As if I want to play with that stuff...*Dos Applications*

-MAME, not just for preserving Pac Man, but for preserving all games, even the crappy and unfinished ones...
-MAME isn't a Democracy, end users can't vote...

I've read that several of the core VFP devs are working part time on LINQ. It's on my list of things to look at.
