I play these games quite a bit and I have never experienced anything like that. This includes the most recently added game, Donkey Kong Hockey.

In Miscellaneous Options there is is a setting to use an image as the background in the main view. Where should this picture be stored?

The simplest fix would be to make a layer in front of the screen with only a sliver of the background to cover up the line.
